A mandala is a symmetrical circular pattern design. An array of shapes, lines and repetitive patterns emanate from the center of the circle. But are you tired of drawing ordinary mandalas? In this tutorial we will cover a mandala pattern which is a hexagram variation to boost your creativity.

Pick a point as the center for your drawing. Start with drawing shapes and patterns in pencils. Place the base piece of EXLICON MX on top of the marked point and mark six points just like how you would draw a hexagon. Connect the six points to draw a hexagram.

Notice how this leaves no marks or perforation. Place the Exlicon MX base on the paper and continue to draw a circle roughly the same size as the hexagram. 

Start decorating the center of the hexagram with marker pens. You may use any shapes or patterns you like. 

To start off, draw 8 ellipses in the center of the hexagram and color in the blank spaces. Then draw another hexagram and start creating complex patterns inside those shapes. Draw more complex shapes and patterns to fill the whole hexagram. Unleash your creativity with the Exlicon MX tools. 

Next, use Exlicon MX to trace out a deeper outer rim. Use a black marker pen to color in the empty spaces. 

From there, you have completed your mandala patterns.
